Projeto Grael
The project was founded by Torben Grael, Lars Grael and Marcelo Ferreira, olympic medalists. The president is Axel Grael, forester and environmentalist, and has more than 12 years of educational sailing experience, professional capacity building, environmental research and awareness work.
Our public is children and youngs from 9 to 24 years old, students of public schools.
Situated in Niterói on Guanabara Bay near to the city of Rio de Janeiro, Projeto Grael uses sailing as an educational tool but also provides complimentary knowledge in environment and technology. Professional skills’ workshops are offered in the following fields: naval carpentry, nautical sewing, fibre-glass, refrigeration, electrical/electronic installations and mechanics for both diesel and outboard motors.
